Norka founded Sumaq Thompson Consulting to support newcomers in Canada. She started her career in 2009 serving large clients in Peru and, after moving to Canada, experienced difficulties finding her first job as she didn’t have Canadian experience. These challenges she faced are not unlike those experienced by some of her clients. Norka is currently a Senior Recruiter for a global recruitment firm and supports clients in the Mining & Energy Sector.

She is passionate about helping those who are pursuing a career in Canada and are struggling to find their first Canadian opportunity or anyone who is looking for a new opportunity. She has been recognized for her exceptional work and has been awarded three consecutive years as one of the best agency recruiters in Canada. This past 2022, she is among the Top 10.
